Sage Erickson (USA), 23, has won the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 6-Star Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro over Tatiana Weston-Webb (HAW), 18, in one-to-three-foot waves at Oceanside Pier. The annual event is an opportunity for big points earnings on the ASP Qualification Series (QS). Erickson took an early lead in the Final, but Weston-Webb quickly overtook the Californian, holding the lead throughout the majority of the heat. Erickson answered back, delivering a big backhand snap of a left set wave for a 6.83 and her second career Supergirl Pro victory.Sage Podium Walk-1

“Winning this event is an amazing experience,” Erickson said. “Congratulations to Tatiana ; she’s been ripping the whole event and I knew going into it that she was looking really sharp. Somehow I got sent that left and gave it everything I had. I’m over the moon and so excited to be in this position.“Being down here and seeing all of the young faces and the young girls, that’s what really matters to me,” continued Erickson. “It helps me remember why I started and it helps motivate me even if I don’t win the event.”….. read more at ASP
