SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Sunday, March 5, 2011) -The swell has filled in overnight and Round 2 of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover will commence at 8am at the primary venue of Snapper Rocks.
The opening event of the 2011 ASP World Title season, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast completed its opening round of competition last Saturday, and after a week’s worth of lay days, is back on in building swell at the primary venue.
“The swell has filled in a bit overnight and we’re looking to kick off the men’s Round 2 at 8amRichie Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’d like to complete Round 2 and we’ve put first six heats of Round 3 on standby. The swell is expected to build throughout today so we’re hoping to see some excellent action.”
Up first this morning will be tour heavyweight Bede Durbidge (AUS), 28, up against wildcard Matt Banting (AUS), 16, in the opening heat of Round 2.
