Arriving on Tavarua

Photographer Ryan Miller arrived at Tavarua Island on Saturday with the Channel Islands team, including Jordy, Adriano, and Kelly. Here’s what he had to say.

Made it to Tavarua! You can already tell this place is really special. At most of the events everyone splits off into their separate cliques but here all of the competitors are forced into an instant comradery.

From having to arrive on the same flights, to the bus and boat rides, to sharing rooms, to sharing every meal together in a common area. It is actually really nice to see everyone so locked into hanging out with one another.

Unfortunately it is dead flat and looks like it will stay that way for the next few days. Being here is perfect for flat day photos though as there are so many interesting activities. Included here are some photos of our arrival plus the kava ceremony.
